The Culinary Arts center was considered to be a Greenfield project in nature although part of an existing campus facility. It is unique in its design with curved glass walls a combination of aluminum skin, stucco, and ribbed metal panels. Due to the projects intended use for food preparation and the fine art of preparing cuisine, it required specific design and utilization of mechanical functions to fulfill requirements by the State of Wisconsin. The overall conceptual estimate came within approximately 7% of the final project costs in spite of numerous changes requested by the client .The client allowed a 10% contingency factor in design and construction changes to occur, the client was pleased to make its presentation to the board and stakeholders that the project was within the original cost margins.
