This particular project was located on an existing campus, with limited space for materials as well as confined space for construction. This project comprised a combination of existing renovation of facilities as well as new construction. One of the most intriguing aspects of this project was the way in which we had to perform our conceptual estimating process. The conceptual budgeting process required us to prepare a budget without the benefit of walking the existing facility to determine some of the conditions involved. It was this very crucial investigation process in which we afraid that our conceptual estimate would be at risk of being outside of the clients thought process in terms of budget. Through the efforts of the Architect and his ability to describe aspects of the project, we were able to provide budget pricing within approximately 5% of the final contracted price.
